I have already discussed about the basic lights which are available in the market and their application in my previous post. Well this post is all about how to create different illusions of mood with the help of mood lighting system. Whether you are in the mood to have a romantic candle-light dinner or you want to feel cosy sitting on the couch watching TV. You want to feel relaxed, lying on the bed or you want to feel rejuvenated while taking a shower. In such cases lights can play a very important role to create such feelings and mood for you . Therefore we have the mood lighting system for which colourful LED and CFL lights are available.

COLOURFUL LED AND CFL LIGHTS

Some pics of colourful LED and fluorescent lights in strip, tube and bulb forms. What you can do with it is next.

When these lights were launched in the market. These weren't used in the residence. In the beginning it was only used in the restaurants, bars, pubs, discotheques, game parlours, clubs and places like that. Now these lights are very much used in residetial buildings and offices too.

But you have to be very careful with the colour you choose for every zone in your house. The main factor to keep in mind is that the colour has two category. Cool and gloomy / warm and bright.

In the bedroom you can use blue or green. Both the colours are cool, have a soothing effect and can function as a dim light, while you are sleeping. In the living-room if you want to bring a theatre effect, you can put the combination of low (wt) magenta, blue and purple lights. For the bar area, combi of red and magenta is perfect. In the dinning area warm yellow and a bit of red could bring that candle-light illusion without the candles which are not very safe and healthy. Blue, green, magenta or the combination of the mentioned colours are very suitable for your shower room. It brings that spa kind of feeling, specially when you are in the bath-tub.

In commercial buildings and offices you can use these lights in the reception area, waiting lounge, walls with notice boards for drawing attention, etc. While using these lights in offices, choice of colour depends upon its task and you also need to compliment the colour theme of that space.

Well these are just my tips. There are no hard rules. You can experiment with the colours as you like.

Variety of fitting and holder makes the lights flexible to put it on your ceilling, wall or floor.

Lastly an important factor. These lights are psychologically effective because of its colour which helps in creating different moods. But these lights are less functional than basic ambient lights and also depends upon your mood, when to put it on or off. Thats why we call it mood lights.
